It was a lovely, relaxing day. I’m adjusting to having the house to myself, and spent most of the day tidying up, playing classical music, and reading in Thunder Cat’s Chair in the sunshine. Kelsea and I celebrated a late Mother’s Day by going to look at wedding dresses, stalking babies, and having Chinese food for dinner.

Having my daughter drive me places

Have you ever been on a beach with sand so brilliantly white and water so passionately blue that it moved your spirit and sparked your soul?

Pomato Point, Anegada, British Virgin Islands.

Quote of the Day: “On soft Spring nights I’ll stand in the yard under the stars – Something good will come out of all things yet – And it will be golden and eternal just like that – There’s no need to say another word.” – Jack Kerouac

Daily gratitudes:
A lovely day
Getting the knee-high grass one-third mowed with the push mower

Sunset Seagull

Anna Maria Island, Florida.

Daily gratitudes:
Lingering goodbyes
My duck robe
The rain at night
My faux holstein cowboy boots
MKL’s wonderful texts

It was cold today – yes, apparently I am talking about the weather – but my hot flashes make the cold tolerable, though my floor felt like ice this morning. The hot flash phase of a woman’s life would be a perfect time to visit an ice hotel, though I fear I would melt anything I touch. And I don’t think MKL is too keen on accompanying me.

Today’s photo is in honor of Dutch, whose story is to be found here:

Dutch loves pink. And even though he’s not mine, I love Dutch. He has survived (so far) where my Tug did not. Please send him prayers and healing juju.

Quote of the Day: “I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”  –  Audrey Hepburn

Daily gratitudes:
Loving cyber-communities
The writer’s group I attended this evening
Seeing MKL
Touch
Novels that make me talk back to them

Spring seems to be oversleeping in Colorado because it’s COLD and I need to remember that there are places like this that I can get to in less than a day. That’s a comfort, isn’t it?

Daily gratitudes:
A roof over my head
MKL
Doing gratitudes when it’s hard
Dried roses
Busy house spirits

I have been quiet and uninspired of late, not wanting to write, to create, to do anything but read, and I do not know why. I do not feel like myself, and hope that it is only indicative of the passage of seasons, winter into spring, and that I will wake again to myself soon.
