When we arrived yesterday, to cold and stormy weather 20 degrees below normal, this gentleman was here to greet us on our patio. He is tame enough that if you dine outside and don’t feed him, he will jump up on the table to help himself. We haven’t had that happen yet, but once it warms up, we’ll look forward to it. All that matters right now is that we’re here, with the sand and the sea at our doorstep.

Quote of the day: “We need the tonic of wildness…At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.” – Henry David Thoreau
